Rethinking the New Work Environment
Rethinking the New Work Environment: The Beck Group at Santander Tower
This tour and presentation will walk you through the new Beck headquarters, highlighting design decisions and how they have had to rethink and modify their office during the pandemic.
Beck's headquarters is located on floors 28-30 of Santander Tower (formerly Thanksgiving Tower) in Downtown Dallas. A three-story atrium was cut into the floor plates to connect the floors and reinforce community and connectivity among coworkers moving from one floor in their old space to multiple floors in the new headquarters. Desiring to embrace new ways of working and creating a healthy office environment, Beck adopted strategies from the WELL Building Standard, LEED, and Fitwel.
Facilities topics emphasized in the presentation will include more frequent cleaning, sanitization and disinfection, communication protocol for reporting COVID cases, air filtration system; vertical circulation controls, workspace analysis for safe distancing, virtual communication accommodations, and COVID Resource Center.
As a National Director of Design and a Principal of Beck Architecture, presenter Michael Kaiser leads the architectural group with over 25 years’ experience designing national and international mixed use, retail, healthcare, higher ed and faith-based projects. As Director of Sustainability, presenter Natalie Terrill, LEED AP optimizes the firm's commitment to sustainable building design and construction in the U.S. and Mexico.
